The first red varieties (Shiraz) have been planted since 2003 (1 ha) at Taung Che vineyard. Then we continued the plantation in 2005 and 2007 at Myaye Phyu site. The red varieties planted were
- Tempranillo (5 ha),
- Pinot Noir (5 ha),
- Shiraz (20 ha) and
- Carignan (5 ha).
The average yield for the red grapes is very low compared to vineyards located in temperate zone. We harvest 4 tons of grapes per hectare, which means 260 cases/ha. |
